When I was working at MMM Digital, we had a client who had amazing apartments for rent in one of the most popular cities for tourists in Israel – Jerusalem. His apartments were already at Booking.com and sweetinn.com, but he wanted to have his own website, where he could manage his reservations. He had an old website on an old platform and wanted a new website based on WordPress.
The apartments had special facilities and we had to create comfort filters for his guests to sort by their needs.
In order to give a perfect experience for the guests, we decided to add a section of upcoming events and fun places to visit in Jerusalem, so they could enjoy their vacation and get to know the city.
The design
In the homepage design, I combined the ambiance of the old city in Jerusalem, along with a clear design in order to present all the information about the apartments, so that guests can choose accurately.
Most of the clients were big families that can't take a single room in a standard hotel. the guest apartment would fit them better. So it was important to indicate near each apartment how many people it could accommodate, and how many bedrooms and bathrooms it contains.
Next, I designed the apartments page. Jerusalem is a large city and the guest apartments are spread over several areas. It was necessary to allow several types of classifications:
- Sort by regions for travelers seeking to reach a specific area.
- Sort by the number of guests and number of rooms per apartment.
- Sorting by different facilities such as balcony, garden, elevator, parking, and more.
Sorting by regions at the top of the page, with pictures of the regions themselves, to give a better understanding of each one. Sort by number of guests, number of rooms, and also date was added on the side.
There is also an option to sort by facilities, which is very important, but a second priority after choosing the number of guests:
